VINEFORD applauds recent bipartisan efforts in Congress to introduce comprehensive federal legislation addressing non-consensual intimate image abuse and AI-generated sexual content. The proposed legislation represents a significant step forward in protecting survivors and holding perpetrators accountable.

The bill includes provisions for:

• Criminal penalties for distribution of non-consensual intimate images
• Enhanced support for survivors through federal funding
• Requirements for platforms to implement rapid removal procedures
• Protection for deepfake victims
• Interstate cooperation mechanisms

VINEFORD has been working with lawmakers for over three years to develop this comprehensive approach. The organization provided expert testimony, research data, and model legislation that informed the bill's development.

"This legislation represents a watershed moment in the fight against image-based sexual abuse," said VINEFORD's Director of Policy. "We are grateful for the bipartisan support and commitment to protecting survivors."

The bill is expected to move through committee in the coming months.
